MARTIN FOOT

England b. 1958


Martin is a trained stonemason and carver from Liverpool. After completing an apprenticeship in 1977, he worked on many public buildings in the city including the world-famous, St Georges Hall. He relocated to Australia for 3 years to work with Italian carvers on large, complex and highly decorative replacements in Sydney Sandstone. Martin Foot is well known for his mastery of portraits of famous sportsmen, in either marble or bronze, which are on display in the Danish Sports Association's Hall of Fame.   Currently Martin Foot resides in Pietrasanta, Italy.

Martin Foot is a highly regarded and versatile sculptor. He works in a wide variety of materials and a huge range of scale and style.  Martin Foot is classically trained but with an enthusiasm encompassing inspiration from the medieval to the modern.
