DANIEL O'ROURKE (IRE/ ENG)

Ireland b. 1983

Daniel is an Irish/ English artist living and working on the Danish island of Bornholm.

His motifs include primarily landscapes, seascapes and still lifes but also occasional narrative pieces exploring deeper human experiences.

Focussed on expressing what he sees in front of him 'as it is', Daniel is preoccupied with the careful study of light in order to create a sense of reality in his paintings.

Through the use of loose brushwork and simplification of shapes, he attempts to tread the fine line between realism and abstraction to deliver works that are at once precise and recognisable but also full of movement and life.
